Isle Of Wight 2022 headliners announced as Lewis Capaldi, Kasabian and Muse
"We're already looking ahead to next year."
Lewis Capaldi, Kasabian and Muse have all been confirmed as headliners for the Isle of Wight Festival next year.
The Seaclose Park event will return from June 16 to 19 next year, with the announcement coming weeks after the festival returned for its delayed 2021 edition – which took in headline sets from Duran Duran, Snow Patrol, David Guetta and Liam Gallagher.
Pete Tong and Lionel Richie are also due to play next year’s event, as well as Blossoms, Sigrid, The Vaccines, Happy Mondays and The Coral with more names to be announced. It also sees a return to the traditional June slot for the festival, after 2021’s event was pushed back to September.
“We couldn’t have asked for a better return to the island this year: we had sunshine all weekend and some fantastic performances,” said festival boss John Giddings.
“We’re already looking ahead to next year and the artists announced today can’t wait to come and entertain us over June 16-19 2022.”
It’ll be the first chance in a while for people to see Lewis Capaldi, after the ‘Someone You Loved’ star cancelled all of his dates and commitments to focus on writing the follow-up record to his smash-hit debut ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’.
Both Lewis and Lionel Richie were supposed to play in 2020 but rescheduled to 2022 after the pandemic postponed the event. Muse will close the festival on the Sunday night, and are thought to be working on new material.
This year’s festival also took a bizarre turn when Liam Gallagher reportedly fell from a helicopter after his headline set, forcing him to cancel a concert in Belfast.
Tickets go on general sale at 8am on Thursday 30 September, and you can buy them here.
