The Sunday afternoon Legends Slot at Glastonbury 2025 is to be performed by Rod Stewart.

He is the first name to be revealed for next year’s festival, which sold out immediately earlier this month.

The festival had made big changes to its ticket queueing system for 2025, with hundreds of thousands of tickets still selling out within an hour.

Alongside Stewart, the likes of Eminem and Sam Fender have all been linked with appearances at next year’s event.

Announcing the news, festival boss Emily Eavis said: “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for. What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year. We cannot wait!”

It isn’t the first time that Sir Rod has played to a Worthy Farm crowd, having previously headlined in 2002.

He said of his return: “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing Glastonbury 2025! After all these years, I’m proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”

This year’s Glastonbury saw a pop masterclass from Dua Lipa, Coldplay’s record-breaking headline set and SZA valiantly battling through a small crowd to deliver an arena-sized production.
