Dirty Pretty Things to reunite for 15th anniversary London gig
Carl Barat's band will be joined by Klaxons' Jamie Reynolds on bass for the show next year
Dirty Pretty Things have announced details of a reunion show, celebrating 15 years of debut album ‘Waterloo To Anywhere’.
The band, led by The Libertines‘ Carl Barat and also featuring drummer Gary Powell alongside guitarist Anthony Rossomando and bassist Didz Hammond, formed in 2004 after The Libertines’ initial breakup, releasing ‘Waterloo To Anywhere’ in 2006.
Dirty Pretty Things have now announced that they are getting back together for a one-off show at the Electric Ballroom in London on March 24 next year. Hammond will not appear at the show, replaced by Klaxons’ Jamie Reynolds on bass.
Discussing the show, Barat said: “We decided last year, to reunite for the 15th birthday of ‘Waterloo To Anywhere’, but the global pandemic scuppered that. Not wanting to let Covid rob us of this opportunity, we decided to put on a show this coming March, to celebrate a band and time that means the world to us.”
Powell added: “It’s great to be back performing music that was born out of friendship and the opportunity to create and express, at a time when it would’ve been easier for us not too. We are looking forward to reengaging with old friends and making some new ones.”
“The spirit of DPT will always coarse through my veins,” Rossomando said. “I’ve been anticipating this moment for years! Let’s gooo.”
Following ‘Waterloo To Anywhere’, Dirty Pretty Things released their second and final studio album in 2008 with ‘Romance At Short Notice’, before breaking up later that year.

Later in 2022, Barat will head out on tour with The Libertines, who are playing four huge summer UK gigs celebrating 20 years of debut album ‘Up The Bracket’.
Barât also recently revealed that he is working on new music with Jamie T, sharing an image on Instagram of himself with the singer and rapper alongside The Prodigy’s Olly Burden.
