Dirty Hit launched their new dance label DH2 in London last night (July 11) at a party featuring label boss George Daniel (of the 1975), Kelly Lee Owens and a brief cameo from Charli XCX.

The label was first announced last month, with Daniel spearheading the imprint. This week, they announced Owens as their first signing, with new album Dreamstate arriving in October.

At Brixton club Phonox on Thursday night, Daniel and Owens played alongside Oscar Farrell and TimFromTheHouse to christen DH2.

Owens’ set saw her debut new single ‘Love You Got’, a propulsive electronic hit that places together her penchant for a throbbing bassline with dreamy vocals. Elsewhere, she aired her frantic climate change anthem ‘Melt!’ and played re-works of Rosalía‘s ‘BIZCOCHITO’ and Radiohead‘s ‘Everything In Its Right Place’.

The night was closed by Daniel, who played a set of raucous pop and house, joined in the booth by his girlfriend, Charli XCX.

Daniel played The 1975 tracks ‘Yeah I Know’ and ‘Shiny Collarbone’ as well as an airing of Charli’s BRAT hit ‘Club Classics’.

Flyers around the venue also signalled that Daniel will be releasing solo music via DH2, with a release date of August 2.
