Chase & Status, Becky Hill and Rudimental to play Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2024
The annual festival will pitch up in Luton this May Bank Holiday weekend.
Chase & Status, Becky Hill and Rudimental are among the first acts announced for the 2024 edition of Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
The festival will come to Luton this year on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 24-26, and also feature Kenya Grace, Ella Henderson and more. It will take place across four stages at Stockwood Park.
All the acts currently announced will play on Friday, May 24, with acts for the Saturday line-up announced tomorrow (March 19) on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James.
Chase & Status said: “Always a big moment for us to play for Radio 1 at Big Weekend, especially this year, to be bringing our full live show to the Main Stage alongside so many other huge acts.”
40 per cent of tickets for Big Weekend will go to local residents in the Luton area, and go on sale at 5pm GMT on Thursday, March 21. You can buy your tickets here.
Greg James, host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, said of the news: “Radio 1’s Big Weekend is our favourite time of the year and we love taking it somewhere new every year. This year is the turn of Luton to experience the full Radio 1 treatment. It’s a simple mission really: we just want everyone who comes along to have the best time.”
Radio 1 boss Aled Haydn Jones added: “Radio 1’s Big Weekend always kicks off the UK festival season in style and I’m so excited that this year, it will be a three-day, four-stage, live music spectacular for our listeners to enjoy. We have some incredibly exciting ideas in the pipeline as well as some of the biggest artists to announce in the coming months, I can’t wait to celebrate in Luton.”
The radio station’s annual event came to Dundee in 2023, with a line-up including The 1975, Lewis Capaldi and Arlo Parks.
