Blink-182 announce rescheduled tour dates, hinting at Reading & Leeds 2024 performance
The band have confirmed new dates for their recently postponed gigs in Dublin, Belfast and Glasgow.
Blink-182 have announced a series of rescheduled UK and Ireland tour dates for next summer, leading fans to believe they will headline Reading & Leeds 2024.
Last month, the band postponed gigs in Dublin, Belfast and Glasgow due to an “urgent family matter” relating to drummer Travis Barker.
Now, the day before they release comeback album One More Time, the band – Barker, Mark Hoppus and the returning Tom DeLonge – have confirmed new dates and venues for the postponed gigs, now set for August next year.
The band will now play Belfast’s SSE Arena on August 26, with an outdoor show then set for Dublin’s Royal Hospital Kilmainham on August 27 before the dates wrap up at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on August 29 and 30.
Fans have since been quick to point out that the dates begin the day after the conclusion of Reading & Leeds 2024, which takes place from August 23-25. No confirmation of a headline performance at the festival has come from the band yet.
Reviewing the first of the band’s two recent London shows at The O2, Rolling Stone UK said: “For a band with such a chequered history, to see them having such uninhibited fun on stage is a total delight, and radiates back onto the crowd.
“Fireworks greet the end of the expletive-laden ‘Family Reunion’ while after DeLonge pokes fun at his bandmates’ performance of festive hit ‘Happy Holidays, You Bastard’, they decide to perform it again, twice as fast. For a band who have often been criticised for loose and sloppy live shows, it’s as if they’re proving with a wink just how tight and impressive they sound this time round.”
