Black Country, New Road have announced details of their third studio album, Forever Howlong, and shared its first single.

The album, out on April 4 via Ninja Tune, is the band’s first as a six-piece after the departure of vocalist Isaac Wood in 2022 and follows the live album Live at Bush Hall from the following year.

First track ‘Besties’, out today, is the band’s first track with lead vocals from Georgia Ellery, also of Jockstrap. She takes lead vocals on Forever Howlong alongside Tyler Hyde and May Kershaw.

Ellery said: “It created a real through line for the album, having three girls singing. It’s definitely very different to Ants From Up There, because of the female perspective – and the music we’ve made also compliments that.”

Of the ‘Besties’ video, which will be released at 5pm GMT today, director Rianne White added: “‘Besties’ came into my world with a dance of feelings, with such an understood concept of exploring the core emotion of taking on the world, and its obstacles to be with her, the bestie, again.”
