Beyoncé postpones upcoming announcement, donates millions to LA fire victims
“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss”
Beyoncé has postponed an announcement scheduled for today (January 14) and donated money to victims of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.
The ongoing fires in the city have damaged over 12,000 buildings, with over 200 people killed.
Taking to Instagram, Beyoncé revealed that an announcement of some sort was scheduled for today, but has been postponed “due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles”.
Her statement added: “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
She added that she has set up a BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund, which has has donated $2.5 million “to directly support families who lost their homes and community organisations at the forefront of relief”.

Elsewhere, The Weeknd has cancelled his upcoming show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California and delayed the release of his new album Hurry Up Tomorrow, by a week to January 31.
He said: “This city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time. My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild.”
Meanwhile, the 2025 Grammy Awards – set for February 2 at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena – are set to go ahead as it stands.
