A. G. Cook named Producer of the Year at 2025 BRIT Awards

Cook, who produced Charli XCX’s ’Brat’ last year, dedicated his win to SOPHIE, “whose vision and artistry is still a driving force for producers everywhere”

A. G. Cook has been named Producer of the Year at the 2025 BRIT Awards ahead of this weekend’s ceremony in London.

This year’s BRIT Awards will take place at The O2 in London this Saturday, March 1, and be broadcast live on ITV. It will once again be hosted by Jack Whitehall for 2025, returning for his fifth time in the role.

Ahead of the ceremony, Cook – who released his own album Britpop and produced Charli XCX’s multi-BRIT-nominated Brat last year – has been honoured with the Producer of the Year gong.

He said: “As someone who’s always felt like a bit of an outsider, I’m very flattered to be recognised by The BRITs. From the early PC Music days to the Charli mixtapes and beyond, I’ve been lucky to work on so much music that I truly believe in. In particular, I’d like to dedicate this moment to SOPHIE, whose vision and artistry is still a driving force for producers everywhere.”

Charli XCX leads the way in the 2025 BRIT Awards nominations, up in five categories. Following up with four nominations each are Ezra CollectiveThe Last Dinner Party and Dua Lipa. Elsewhere, The Cure have received three nominations – their first BRITs nods in two decades – while The Beatles are nominated for Song of the Year with ‘Now and Then’, their first BRITs nomination since the first ever awards in 1977.

International categories recognise the likes of Fontaines D.C.Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan, while Rolling Stone UK’s 2024 Future of Music cover starRachel Chinouriri, is up for Best New Artist and Artist of the Year.

Performing at the ceremony on Saturday will be Carpenter, Sam Fender, JADE (fresh from her appearance at the Rolling Stone UK Awards), Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, The Last Dinner Party and Myles Smith – who was recently announced as the winner of the BRIT Awards 2025 Rising Star award.
