Steve Buscemi was hospitalised last week after being attacked on the street in New York City.
As reported by his publicist, the 66-year-old actor was assaulted on the street in Manhattan on Wednesday (May 8).
A statement from his representative said: “Steve Buscemi was assaulted in mid-town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city.
“He is okay and appreciates everyone’s well wishes.”
A statement from the New York Police Department added that their investigation into the attack is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
Earlier this year, Buscemi’s Boardwalk Empire co-star Michael Stuhlbarg was also subject to a reportedly random attack in the city.
Stuhlbarg was attacked with a rock in the back of the neck during a walk in Central Park, with his attacker arrested and charged.
