Paul Rudd shares Jeremy Renner health update: ‘He’s the best guy’
‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ star Evangeline Lilly also paid a visit to the recovering actor: ‘He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle’
Paul Rudd has shared a health update about his Marvel co-star Jeremy Renner.
Back in January, Renner was hospitalised following an accident with a snow plough after trying to stop the vehicle from crashing into his adult nephew.
“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” a representative told Variety of the incident at his home in Nevada. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
Renner then shared his own update to social media following the New Year’s Day accident.
“Thank you all for your kind words . Im too messed up now to type,” the Hawkeye actor posted on Instagram along with a selfie showing facial bruising. “But I send love to you all.”
Now, Ant-Man star Rudd has shared an update on his friend and co-star. “He’s doing alright. He’s doing well…He’s the best guy and he’s awesome,” Rudd told Entertainment Tonight, revealing that he spoke to Renner just before the world premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on February 6.
Rudd’s co-star, Evangeline Lilly, also shared an update about Renner, telling Access Hollywood that she was impressed by the actor’s recovery progress.
“I walked in his house and got chicken skin because I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?’” she said.
“I expected to sit at his bedside and hold his hand while he moaned and groaned in pain and wasn’t able to move. He was wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends. It’s a miracle. It’s a straight up miracle. He’s made of something really tough that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him and he is recovering incredibly.”
Renner has continued to keep fans updated on his progress, sharing on social media last month: “Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years.
“Spawned from tragedy for my entire family, and quickly focused into uniting actionable love. I want to thank EVERYONE for their messages and thoughtfulness for my family and I … Much love and appreciate to you all.”
He continued: “These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friend deepens . Love and blessings to you all.”
Captain America actor Chris Evans showed support for his Avengers: Endgame co-star. “That’s one tough mf’er,” he wrote on Twitter. “Has anyone even checked in the snowcat??? Sending so much love.”
Renner replied: “Love you brother… . I did check on the snow cat , she needs fuel.”
