The best films of the last 25 years have been voted for by fans to celebrate 25 years of Review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
The site asked fans to choose the best film that had come out in its lifetime, and Christopher Nolan‘s films proved particularly popular, with several of his motion pictures charting highly in the rankings.
The director’s 2008 film The Dark Knight came out on top, with 2014’s Interstellar and 2010’s Inception following close behind to round out the top 3.
The only other director to have more than one entry in the top 10 was Peter Jackson, with two of his Lord Of The Rings films landing in the top 10.

Earlier this year, the site asked their approved critics to also rank the top 25 films of the past 25 years.
The review aggregator commissioned the poll to celebrate their 25th anniversary, asking their certified critics to choose their five favourite films of the past quarter-century, before tabulating the results into a rundown of the highest-rated 25. The overall winner was George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, with Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite second and David Lynch’s Mulholland Dr. third. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight and Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire rounded out the top five, making the latter the highest entry directed by a woman.
