Behind every success is a story of resilience, often shaped by silent battles hidden from public view. Even the most successful leaders and celebrated figures—those people admired for their accomplishments and strength—face moments of doubt, struggle, and perseverance that are rarely shared.

Today, these silent battles will no longer remain in the shadows, as iHeartMedia, with the Martin Luther King III Foundation and Legacy+, proudly debuts the “My Legacy” podcast and syndicated radio show, which is syndicated on 100 iHeart radio stations across the United States. “My Legacy” seeks to uncover the unseen struggles that define extraordinary lives. Launched on January 20 during the celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the “My Legacy” podcast offers listeners an intimate glimpse into the defining moments and untold stories of influential leaders and public figures.

Different Stories of Resilience, One Platform

Listeners tuning into the “My Legacy” podcast can expect an intimate exploration of the lives of some of the world’s most influential figures. Co-hosted by Martin Luther King III, Arndrea Waters King, Craig Keilburger, and Marc Kielburger, each episode delves into the untold stories and pivotal moments that have shaped these individuals.

The diverse lineup of guests, from Mel Robbins to Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Billy Porter, promises a wide range of experiences and perspectives. Will Pearson, President of iHeartPodcasts, shares his vision for the podcast, saying: “‘My Legacy’ is a celebration of the bold decisions and crucial moments that shape the stories of extraordinary individuals. By honouring Dr. King’s legacy through powerful and unique narratives, we hope to inspire listeners to reflect on their impact and the lasting change they can create in the world.”

Martin Luther King III also shares, “Every person has a story, and it’s in sharing those stories that we find the threads connecting us all. The ‘My Legacy’ podcast is about uncovering the untold moments that connect us.”

Creating a Comprehensive Movement for Change

While the “My Legacy” podcast captivates audiences with its intimate exploration of the lives of extraordinary leaders, it also serves as a platform for launching other initiatives. Central to this is its alignment with the “Realize the Dream” movement, an ambitious effort inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision.

The podcast joins this initiative to champion unity and empower communities across America by encouraging 100 million hours of service before what would have been Dr. King’s 100th birthday in 2029. To amplify this mission, iHeartMedia has committed a $5 million Spotlight Media Grant to support organisations driving meaningful change, ensuring that the podcast’s impact goes beyond storytelling and into actionable community service.

Complementing the podcast is the release of “What Is My Legacy?”, a book co-authored by Martin Luther King III, Arndrea Waters King, Craig Kielburger, and Marc Kielburger. Drawing on breakthroughs in neuroscience, psychology, epigenetics and their own lived experiences, the book explores a groundbreaking new framework they created called Living Legacy. It’s based on the simple but profound recognition that seemingly small daily actions can create profound ripples of change.

The book, featuring never-been-told stories from the King family and contributions from celebrities and thought leaders—including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Jay Shetty, Julia Roberts, Yara Shahidi, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Sanjay Gupta—challenges traditional notions of legacy, redefining it as something people live daily rather than leave behind.

The Start of Creating Legacies

Together, the podcast, book, and broader movement form a cohesive effort to drive action and honour Dr. King’s enduring legacy, which resonates with individuals and communities alike. The comprehensive approach ensures that Dr. King’s vision of unity and service reaches people where they are, whether through storytelling, self-reflection, or direct community engagement.

The first episode of The “My Legacy” podcast is now available on iHeart podcasts and any podcast platform nationwide.
