West Ham United and Ghana star Mohammed Kudus has officially signed with Skechers, becoming a brand ambassador for the US footwear company’s football line.

Known to fans as “Star Boy”, the 23-year-old winger has been spotted wearing Skechers Razor boots in recent matches. The speed boot, designed for agility and comfort, has now become Kudus’ official footwear on the pitch.

Kudus shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, saying in a statement: “I’ve been testing and competing in the Skechers Razor for a while now and it’s evident to me that this is the best and most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn.”

The signing of Kudus coincides with Skechers’ launch of the Evolution Pack, a new colourway marking the brand’s expansion into the global football market. This move comes just one year after Skechers first entered the football scene.

Kudus’ journey to becoming a Skechers ambassador began in Ghana, where he developed his skills at a local academy. After making his professional debut at 18 with Danish club Nordsjælland, he moved to Ajax in the Netherlands, scoring 17 goals before his transfer to West Ham United in 2023.

The young Ghanaian has already made significant strides in his international career, netting 11 goals in 32 appearances for Ghana since 2019.

Kudus joins Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane, who became the first professional footballer to compete in Skechers boots at the start of the 2023/24 season, as a Skechers ambassador. Kane is currently showcasing the brand’s performance at the UEFA Euro 2024, including scoring his penalty during Wednesday’s (10 July) semi-final against the Netherlands.

Other notable Premier League players wearing Skechers include Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko and Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga.

Skechers’ new football boot rage includes three elite styles for both men and women, marking the brand’s serious intention to compete with established names in the sport.

The Skechers Razor, a standout in the lineup, is engineered for players who prize speed and agility. This lightweight boot draws inspiration from track shoes, featuring a carbon-infused sole that promises responsive power and swift movement on the pitch.

For footballers focused on ball control, Skechers offers the SKX_01. This boot boasts a custom-crafted fit, designed to optimise comfort and enhance touch during play. Available in both low-cut and high-top versions, the SKX_01 caters to players with varying style preferences.

The company has also announced plans to introduce a new line of boots suitable for players at all levels. These forthcoming models will balance performance features with comfort, making them accessible to a wider range of footballers, including younger players.
