Meridia Books will debut in the literary market in the last quarter of the year, delivering high-quality fiction and nonfiction titles designed to become the next wave of intellectual property (IP). With a focus on acquiring, marketing, and curating content, Meridia Books aims to build a library of stories that will captivate modern audiences and stand out in a marketplace with a voracious appetite for original content.
Original IP is in high demand. With the global entertainment industry investing more than $20 billion in original programming in 2023, Meridia Books’s carefully curated portfolio offers a unique opportunity to place compelling narratives in front of decision-makers.
A Literary Force in the Making
Meridia Books’ first title, Flight 47 by Thomas Ray, sets the stage for a thrilling debut. The story follows an aid worker who misses a flight out of Niger, only to uncover a chilling mystery—there’s no record of the plane ever existing, and no one seems to remember it at all. This gripping mystery will captivate readers, with its potential for adaptation into TV or film imminent. Deadline recently announced that one of Ray’s previous titles, Silencer, has been acquired by Paramount Pictures, with a script in development.
Also featured in the launch lineup is Buffalos by The Office alum and touring musician Creed Bratton along with Nate Edmondson, a novel about Buffalo soldiers in the vast Nebraska. In it, Alexander Johnson is caught between a military that sees him as expendable and an enemy that respects him as a warrior. As brutal battles unfold, he must choose: remain a soldier for a country that weaponizes his freedom or stand with the people he was sent to destroy. As an exciting fiction novel by one of TV’s most clever entertainers, Buffalos has the potential to resonate with a wide audience and serve as a unique addition to the market’s growing interest in historical dramas.
Glitter by best-selling Serbian novelist Vladimir Đukanović brings a timely techno-thriller to the table. Set against the backdrop of geopolitical conflict and rogue AI, the novel follows a brilliant engineer whose work on global electrical grids thrusts him into a conspiracy involving governments and tech visionaries. The novel’s timely exploration of state-of-the-art science and moral dilemmas makes it an ideal candidate for future adaptations in both TV and film.
Meridia: Fertile ground for stories.
