This distinctive combination of classical and contemporary performance exemplifies Sebastiano Di Meo‘s artistic vision. As Executive Artistic Coordinator for Mr. Hospitality, Di Meo creates immersive shows that blend theatrical tradition with modern entertainment.

“I want audiences to feel something unique, something they’ll carry with them beyond the evening,” Di Meo shares. His productions combine classical dance techniques with contemporary staging to create unique experiences in Miami’s competitive entertainment scene.

A Journey Rooted in Classical Foundations

Sebastiano Di Meo’s artistic journey began in London’s Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School hallowed halls. Here, he developed a technical foundation that instilled discipline and an appreciation for precision. “Classical ballet taught me how to find perfection in movement,” Di Meo reflects. “It’s the backbone of everything I create.”

After mastering classical techniques, Di Meo transitioned to the commercial world, studying at the prestigious Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. This pivotal shift in his journey introduced him to urban styles such as jazz funk. Once accepted into the MDC Certificate Program, he was under the strict mentorship of Nika Kljun, whose impressive credits include working with renowned artists like Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber.

These experiences helped him expand his artistic versatility. Early in his career, he performed for artists such as Tiziano Ferro and Lali Esposito,TV shows such as “Sanremo”, experiences that sharpened his stage presence and creative instincts.

From Performer to Visionary Choreographer

As his reputation grew, so did his ambitions. Di Meo began assisting prominent choreographers on major television productions in Italy, including The Masked Singer. These roles allowed him to explore the storytelling potential of choreography, eventually leading him to specialize in immersive, multi-disciplinary performances.

His career trajectory took him across continents, from the glamorous Ballo del Doge in Venice to Dubai’s Expo 2020. “Each culture brought new textures to my work,” he says. “Italy gave me drama and theatricality, while Dubai taught me scale and grandeur.” These global influences helped him cultivate a style that is as diverse as it is distinctive.

Blending Classical and Contemporary Art

Di Meo’s artistry lies in his ability to bridge seemingly disparate worlds. At the heart of his work is a philosophy rooted in storytelling. “Every performance begins with an idea, a sound, or a melody,” he explains. “From there, I build layers—lighting, costumes, choreography—to create a cohesive narrative.”

This meticulous approach is evident nowadays in his productions for Queen Miami Beach and Marion. The interplay of tradition and innovation creates an emotional resonance that captivates audiences. “It’s about honoring the past while innovating for the future,” Di Meo says.

Redefining Entertainment in Hospitality

Since joining Mr. Hospitality, Di Meo has elevated Miami’s entertainment scene, integrating high art into luxury dining experiences. Under his leadership, venues such as Queen Miami Beach, Lafayette, and Marion have become hubs for sophisticated performances. From Marion’s iconic Thursday Soirée to annual events like the Queen’s New Year’s Eve show, Di Meo’s productions combine elegance with accessibility.

Rebranding efforts at Lafayette and Marion have yielded tangible results. Customer engagement increased by 12 percent at Lafayette and 22 percent at Marion within months of their rebranding, underscoring the impact of Di Meo’s innovative event concepts. “We’re not just selling food or drinks; we’re creating memories,” he explains.

Challenges and Triumphs

Despite his success, Di Meo’s journey has not been without challenges. Translating his artistic visions into commercial realities requires a delicate balance. “Artistic integrity is non-negotiable, but I also understand the business side,” he says. “Every performance must resonate with audiences and justify the investment.”

Some of his most ambitious productions have budgets exceeding $250,000, covering everything from costumes crafted in Florence to cutting-edge lighting designs. These high-stakes performances are a testament to his commitment to excellence, blending artistic rigor with operational precision.

The Future of Arts & Entertainment

The Arts & Entertainment industry is evolving rapidly, driven by demand for immersive and experiential offerings. In 2024, the sector is projected to grow by eight percent, with dinner shows emerging as a significant trend. Di Meo’s work epitomizes this shift, combining high culture with commercial appeal to engage diverse audiences.

Looking ahead, he envisions a greater integration of art and hospitality. “The future lies in creating holistic experiences,” he says. “It’s not just about entertainment; it’s about curating a journey that engages all the senses.”

A Visionary’s Legacy

As he reflects on his career, Di Meo remains driven to push boundaries. “I want to leave a legacy of innovation,” he says. “To create art that not only entertains but also inspires.”

Sebastiano Di Meo dreams of establishing a residency or venue where he can fully express his vision, free from constraints. “It’s about bringing my art to life on my terms,” he says. Sebastiano Di Meo is not just a choreographer or artistic director—he bridges classical ballet and contemporary art, transforming how we experience entertainment. His work is a testament to the power of creativity and the enduring relevance of art in all its forms.
