CARA: A Triumphant Return to Music Brings Authentic Self-Expression
In partnership with APG
By Kody Boye
Following a hiatus, the pop and trap artist CARA is making a triumphant return to the music industry with the release of her new single, “BLVD”. Before her brief departure from the music scene, CARA made a name for herself by releasing hits like “Away from You, Jump Smokers Remix,” and “FIGHT,” her notable remake of the Beastie Boys’ “Fight for Your Right to Party.” Having participated in several collaborations with big name musicians, CARA’s re-entry into the music industry is sure to make waves by expanding on her bold and fresh sound.
“BLVD’s” Unapologetic Expression
CARA wrote “BLVD” to be an unapologetic celebration of creative self-expression, with the song itself featuring powerful vocals and an unconventional flute solo. CARA has been playing the flute since she was 12 years old, and the instrument lends a certain emotionality to the piece. Her use of the flute conveys a deep connection to the practice of music itself, demonstrating that her blending of musical styles is an intentional part of her unique character.
“BLVD” joins elements of pop and trap with this classical flute element, serving to capture both CARA’s continued dedication to music in spite of a brief hiatus as well as her rebellious and innovative spirit. This fusion of style manages to create something unexpectedly beautiful and captivating for a wide range of audiences and listeners, marking her as a genre-defining artist. Her efforts manage to fashion a completely unique sound while maintaining commercial appeal, demonstrating both authentic emotion and attention to the audience.
The Kronicles Continues What “BLVD” Started
Impressively, “BLVD” is the fully self-produced introduction to a larger album set to be released in 2025. The Kronicles is set to continue the exploration of CARA’s life, which “BLVD” began, utilising her ability to blend styles in order to create passionate and dynamic narratives.
A Posthumous Feature With Gangsta Boo
The Kronicles includes a posthumous feature from Gangsta Boo, who sadly passed away at the age of 43 on January 1, 2023. The feature, called “CARA KUSH,” is a celebration of the pair’s shared love of music.
“I grew up listening to her inspiring me, so this was really amazing for me,” CARA said. “We had big plans to perform our song ‘CARA KUSH’ all over, so she will be with us in spirit as her vocals and writing on my track ‘CARA KUSH’ is released in 2025.”
Authentic Emotion
This collaboration is fitting for the album’s theme of raw, autobiographical authenticity. Featuring a series of chapters exploring stories from CARA’s life through multiple symbolic genres, the album is set to be an emotional and honest experience. In The Kronicles, CARA will process her grief through song, reclaiming her life with a catchy melodicism that connects with her audiences across the world. It is exactly the bold and unapologetic return to music that CARA’s fans expect, demonstrating resilience and authenticity through the art of genuine sound.
